Robert Kocharian's Lawyers Filed a Cassation Appeal Against the Decision to Release Him on a 2 Billion Dram Bail
The main defendant in the March 1 case, Robert Kocharian, who was released from detention on June 18 for a bail of 2 billion drams, has had his lawyers file a cassation appeal. They are contesting the decision made by appellate judge Arsen Nikoghosyan to release Kocharian under the 2 billion dram bail.
It has been noted that the Prosecutor General Arthur Davtyan has also submitted a cassation appeal. The Prosecutor's Office is demanding the annulment of the decision to release the former president, who has been charged with overthrowing the constitutional order and receiving approximately 3 million dollars in bribes, on a 2 billion dram bail in connection with the post-election events of 2008.
