28-Year-Old Man Strikes Doctor on the Nose with His Head

The preliminary investigation into a criminal case regarding the obstruction of a physician's professional activity has been completed by the Arabkir investigative division of the Yerevan Investigative Committee.

The Investigative Committee of Armenia reports that according to the data obtained during the investigation, on December 12, 2019, around 12:30 PM, the head of the resuscitation department at the Arabkir Medical Complex—Institute for Children and Adolescent Health was providing information to the parents of a patient regarding their son's health condition. During this discussion, the father of the 29-year-old resident of Yerevan had an argument with the doctor, expressing dissatisfaction with the ongoing efforts to improve his son's health.

During the argument, the 29-year-old man committed non-life-threatening violence against the physician by intentionally striking him on the nose with his head, causing physical pain. Based on the collected sufficient evidence, the young man has been charged under Article 130.1, Part 1 of the Armenian Criminal Code (obstruction of medical professionals' professional and non-professional support activities). A signature not to leave the area has been selected as a preventive measure for him. The preliminary investigation has been completed, and the criminal case has been forwarded to court with an accusatory conclusion.
