‘Zhamanak’. Deadline to Submit Comments to ECHR in Kocharyan Case Missed
‘Zhamanak’ newspaper reports: “In the case of Robert Kocharyan, at the request of the Constitutional Court, there was an opportunity to apply to the European Court of Human Rights for comments during the phase of drafting the Court's conclusion.
According to ‘Zhamanak’, the ‘Legal Path’ NGO, established by Ruben Melikyan and Siranuhi Sahakyan, applied to the ECHR for this purpose. The ECHR granted them permission; however, they missed the deadlines and were unable to submit comments regarding the case. This fact has been recorded in the advisory opinion of the ECHR.
Meanwhile, the ECHR has also allowed comments to be submitted by Tigran Yeghoyan, the representative of the victims' heirs in the March 1 case. He has submitted his observations related to the case, which the ECHR has taken into account and accepted.”
