Attempt to Spread Anti-Russian Sentiments: Mikayel Melkumyan
Member of the National Assembly from the Prosperous Armenia Party, Mikayel Melkumyan, has commented on the recent attempts by certain forces to spread anti-Russian sentiments.
“Dear compatriots, in recent days, there has been an attempt to spread anti-Russian sentiments by certain forces in our republic. These are often dominated by absurd and illogical questions and threats. Without delving into their details, I will say that the friendship between the Armenian and Russian peoples has a history spanning centuries, with deep roots, and today there are no objective grounds for sowing anti-Russian sentiments in our country. Artificially provoking this will not succeed.
Are we forgetting that the Russian Federation is our strategic ally and our largest trade partner? Every year, hundreds of thousands of citizens of the Republic of Armenia work in the Russian Federation. We are part of a common security assurance system. Finally, the Republic of Armenia and the Russian Federation are members of the Eurasian Economic Union. Thousands of companies with Russian capital operate in the Republic of Armenia. I leave the conclusions to you. I wish everyone good health,” wrote Melkumyan.
