The Court Has Not Yet Decided, It Will Make a Decision by Sunday: Tsarukyan
The court has not yet made a decision and will make one by Sunday. This was stated by Gagik Tsarukyan in a conversation with reporters today.
“To date, there has been no request to detain or arrest the President of the National Olympic Committee or the second political force—the opposition. I have only one statement: if the situation in this country, the spread of the pandemic, this poverty, and this economic decline are my fault, I am ready to voluntarily go and serve that sentence, but it is surprising to me,” said Tsarukyan.
When asked whether he had distributed electoral bribes, Tsarukyan replied: “I went; good luck.” He reiterated that there has never been a case in history where a person was imprisoned under the article on electoral bribery.
To the question of why he now claims political persecution, while at the time there were also political cases involving well-known individuals, Tsarukyan noted: “I had my doubts, but I had no right to express them. I thought the investigation would be conducted, and I stand by what I said.”
