Some Law Enforcement Officers Kneel Before Protesters in London
Protests and riots in the United States are not only continuing but have also spread to several other countries around the world. The wave of unrest and demonstrations has reached London. Near the residence of the Prime Minister of the United Kingdom, tensions were high, and witnesses reported that everything started due to a mistake by the police.
“One of the law enforcement officers tried to pull someone from the crowd, which led the protesters to attempt to enter the Prime Minister's residence. They also threw projectiles at the police,” they noted. According to preliminary data, the number of participants in the protest reached 15 thousand.
A photo of the protest in London is circulating online, showing some law enforcement officers kneeling before the gathered crowd. According to an explanation, this gesture by the police is a call for solidarity with the protesters, demonstrating that they understand their plight.
Forecasts suggest that this will continue into the weekend as well. It is worth noting that mass protests began recently after the release of a 10-minute-long video that circulated on social media, in which a police officer is seen pressing his knee on the neck of a man named George Floyd. Ignoring the man's pleas and his words about being unable to breathe, the officer refused to let him go, resulting in Floyd's death.
