Serzh Sargsyan on the reasons for inviting Arshak Karapetyan to the commission a second time
The newspaper "Zhoghovurd" writes: "Yesterday, a meeting of the National Assembly's commission investigating the circumstances of the April 2016 war took place, at which Arshak Karapetyan, an advisor to Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, was invited for a second time. Karapetyan held the position of the former head of the Intelligence Department of the Armed Forces during the April 2016 war and was subsequently dismissed by decree from Serzh Sargsyan.
According to information from the newspaper, the reasons for inviting Karapetyan again are related to Serzh Sargsyan's recent visit. The fact is that during the commission meeting on April 16, Sargsyan discussed issues related to counterintelligence and provided new information regarding the events of those days, which raised many questions among the commission members, prompting them to invite Karapetyan again.
We learned that during yesterday's meeting, commission members inquired about Sargsyan's new statements and sought clarifications, to which Karapetyan responded adequately, providing details of the events and answering questions.
The newspaper "Zhoghovurd" also learned that there is considerable dissatisfaction among commission members regarding the absence of Yelq (Bright Armenia) faction members Gevorg Gorgisyan and Rubik Stepanyan for the third consecutive session. Many commission members believe that this meeting of the commission is not political in nature but rather created to address security issues, making the opposition's behavior puzzling for everyone involved."
