Video: Passengers Without Masks Removed, Buses Transported to Secured Area
In order to prevent the potential spread of the new coronavirus, the police continue to ensure compliance with the decisions of the Prime Minister. According to the Police Department, on May 18, the operation of public transport providing regular passenger transport services resumed across the country. According to the Prime Minister's decision, only the number of passengers corresponding to the designated seating places is allowed to be transported in microbuses and buses, and the addition of extra improvised seats is prohibited. Standing passengers may only be transported in vehicles longer than 9 meters. A distance of at least 1 meter must be maintained between standing passengers. Mandatory hand sanitizers based on alcohol must be installed at the entrance of all passenger transport vehicles so that passengers can sanitize their hands. Passengers and the driver must wear protective masks. Information leaflets regarding these requirements must be posted in visible areas in all passenger transport vehicles. Violations of safety rules will lead to legal responsibilities. Since early morning on May 18, both passengers and drivers have been reminded of all these requirements at bus stops as well as by mobile police officers.
A number of public transport vehicles have been found with individuals not wearing masks. Passengers were removed, and the buses were transported to a secured area.
The police of the Yerevan Metro Protection Division have also transitioned to emergency mode. They are monitoring to ensure that only individuals wearing protective masks use the metro. They are also overseeing that people maintain social distance at stations and in wagons.
Dear citizens, strictly adhere to safety rules, as this is in the interest of us all,” the police informed.
