Regardless of whether you are Gagik Tsarukyan or Alen Simonyan, the law must function: Deputy Speaker of Parliament
Today, during a conversation with journalists, Deputy Speaker of the National Assembly Alen Simonyan addressed the accusations against the director of Multi Group company, Sedrak Arustamyan, and in response to a journalist's question regarding whether the allegations are directed at the leader of the Prosperous Armenia Party, Gagik Tsarukyan, he stated: "This government has one rule: the law must operate, regardless of whether you are Gagik Tsarukyan or Alen Simonyan. I do not want to comment on the specifics of the charges; we will wait and see what happens. It is too early to talk about it. I wish Gagik Tsarukyan good health and a pleasant day," he said.
Referring to the charges against former Armenian Ambassador to the Vatican Mikayel Minasyan and his criticisms of the authorities, Simonyan stated: "Minasyan, as well as Serzh Sargsyan and many such former wealthy officials, are engaged in one thing. Understanding that criminal prosecution will be forthcoming in their cases, they have started to engage in political activities... believing that this will give them the opportunity to evade responsibility."
