Government Discusses Whether to Introduce State of Emergency Due to Current Situation

The Prime Minister of Armenia, Nikol Pashinyan, has returned to Yerevan. Discussions are underway at the Government building to determine whether there is a need to introduce a state of emergency in the country or in specific regions of Armenia.

The Prime Minister noted that in such a case, citizens' lives would not change significantly, but stricter controls would be implemented in certain areas, similar to what has been done in Ejmiatsin since last night.

Nikol Pashinyan reminded that out of 27 exits from Ejmiatsin, 24 will be closed starting today. It will be possible to leave through the Vagharschapat-Yerevan, Vagharschapat-Ashtarak, and Vagharschapat-Masis roads, where doctors will be working on-site and police supervision has been established.

The Prime Minister added that there have been no new case reports since last night; however, it is noteworthy that one out of the 28 individuals announced yesterday is an employee of one of Yerevan's production enterprises. His work colleagues and employees of the enterprise are being isolated.

Nikol Pashinyan urged citizens not to engage in excessive purchasing, as there is no need to hoard large quantities of food. “This is a crisis from which we will emerge much stronger. In all of this, we must find opportunities, including economic ones, as there are problems in the global market,” said the Prime Minister.
