Involvement of Army in Artsakh's Electoral Processes is Unacceptable: Defense Army
The Defense Army of Artsakh has issued a statement addressing attempts by certain social and political circles to involve the military in the electoral processes currently taking place in the Republic of Artsakh. This involvement, according to the statement, is deemed unacceptable.
“Dear compatriots, recently, due to the electoral processes that have commenced in the Republic of Artsakh, attempts have been made by certain social and political circles to involve the army in these developments, which is unacceptable,” the statement reads.
The command of the armed forces expressed deep concern over these manifestations and reiterated that the military has a single primary mission: to ensure the security of the homeland's borders and the peaceful livelihood of the people, thus creating favorable conditions for the strengthening and consolidation of our statehood.
“We assure you that the armed forces, representing the unity and cohesion of our people, have never had and do not have any political hue or orientation. They have always been and will remain at the forefront of fulfilling our national aspirations and goals, guided solely by the sacred mission of protecting the Motherland from external enemies,” the statement highlighted.
The Ministry of Defense of Artsakh commended the significance of nationwide important events in the internal political life of the republic, including the upcoming presidential and parliamentary elections. It calls on all social and political organizations operating in the country to refrain from involving the army in political developments through unlawful measures.
