C-section Performed on Pregnant Woman with Bilateral Pneumonia
Saint Gregory the Illuminator Medical Center reports that a 34-year-old woman, 33 weeks pregnant, was transferred by ambulance to the intensive care unit from one of the border medical facilities in Armenia. The woman arrived with altered consciousness and was in extremely critical condition, having reportedly been treated for bilateral pneumonia for 10 days.
Upon her arrival in the intensive care unit, she was immediately placed on a ventilator. Doctors from the maternity ward of Saint Gregory the Illuminator Medical Center were involved in performing a cesarean section. The child's condition was assessed as extremely critical, presenting with intrauterine pneumonia, and was connected to a respiratory device.
Following examinations, the mother was diagnosed with severe bilateral sub-total pneumonia and Adult Respiratory Distress Syndrome. After spending two weeks in the intensive care unit, the 34-year-old woman was discharged in improved condition and is currently at the maternity hospital with her baby.
