Prime Minister Calls for Calm, Trust in Government News Amid Coronavirus Concerns
Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan has made another post on his Facebook page, discussing the potential for a coronavirus infection in the wife of a citizen diagnosed with the virus in Armenia.
“It is significant that, at this moment, no infection has been detected in the wife of the citizen diagnosed with coronavirus. Of course, the incubation period may play a role here, meaning that theoretically, the virus has not yet manifested itself. However, there is also a possibility that individuals who have been in contact with the infected person may not become infected, because it is not sufficient for the virus to be present in a person’s body for transmission to occur. Infection is transmitted when the virus reproduces in large quantities within a person's organism and is then spread through sneezing, coughing, or other aerosol means. According to experts, as long as the infection has not manifested in a person through fever, cough, or sneezing, the likelihood of them infecting others is very low. I mean, with the implementation of proper measures, preventing the spread of the virus is a realistic task.
Sincerely, dear compatriots, I again call for maintaining calm, trust only in the news disseminated by the government and official bodies, and to adhere to the preventive measures suggested by the Ministry of Health to limit the spread of the coronavirus,” wrote Pashinyan.
