Erdogan Proposes Face-to-Face Engagement Between Turkey and Syrian Authorities to Putin
Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has proposed to Russian President Vladimir Putin that Turkey engage in a "face-to-face" situation with the Syrian authorities. This information was reported by RIA Novosti.
Erdogan stated that Turkey entered Syria not at the invitation of President Bashar al-Assad, but at the invitation of the Syrian people. He said, "And as long as the people do not invite us to leave, we will not leave. I told Putin, 'Leave us in a face-to-face regime; we will do what is necessary ourselves.'"
