35 Armenian Citizens Contact Embassy in Iran Due to Coronavirus Spread
In response to the spread of the coronavirus in Iran, the Armenian Embassy has received inquiries from 35 Armenian citizens, including dual citizens. The embassy is making every effort to address the concerns raised by Armenian citizens swiftly.
This information was shared on Facebook by Anna Naghdalyan, the spokesperson for the Armenian Ministry of Foreign Affairs. She stated, "Responding to the announcements from the Armenian Embassy in the Islamic Republic of Iran, the embassy has received inquiries from 35 Armenian citizens, including dual nationals. The embassy is in constant contact with Armenian citizens and is taking all necessary measures to swiftly address the concerns raised by them."
As of now, the number of confirmed coronavirus cases in Iran has reached 47, with 12 deaths registered. Fatalities have been reported in Ghom, Markazi, and Mazandaran provinces.
It is reminded that starting from February 23, for security reasons, the operations of the consular section of the Armenian Embassy in the Islamic Republic of Iran have been suspended, including citizen appointments and receptions. Additionally, a special government meeting has decided to suspend land communication with Iran for two weeks and to limit air traffic.
