Hayk Martirosyan: "Tatevik Revazyan's Pregnancy Issue Attracts Astonishing Attention"

Political scientist Hayk Martirosyan has stated on his Facebook page, "Tatevik Revazyan's pregnancy issue is attracting astonishing attention from society. This shows that we have reached an unprecedented level of degradation. Instead of this, everyone should talk about how the young official is daily degrading the Armenian language with every word, lowering it to a level of primitiveness and leading the conversational language, street Yerevan Armenian, down a path of normalization.

Revazyan is not the only one. There are several so-called 'intellectuals' who speak and especially write with specific 'a's (saying 'khossum a', 'grum a', 'anum a'), who claim to be engaging with Armenian in an immediate and natural way, while what they are doing is actually degrading and corrupting the native language. However, if they are doing their job more slowly due to a lack of recognition, then official Revazyan is doing it with great success. And we should not attribute everything to her growing up abroad. After all, she lived in a family of Armenians, speaks Armenian, and transforming 'a' into 'e' and working on herself is perhaps not a difficult task.

Soon, you will have a maturing generation that, due to the self-destruction of such people and the inadvertent destruction they cause, in the already prevailing conditions of widespread illiteracy in Armenia, will not only be completely illiterate but will also speak in the actual Yerevan dialect of Kond, believing that they are using the Armenian language.
