3.4 Billion Drams Allocated for the Conduct of the Referendum
During today’s government meeting, a decision was made to allocate 3 billion 447 million drams for the constitutional referendum. Of this amount, 2 billion 553 million drams will go to the Central Electoral Commission for organizing the referendum, 660 million drams will be allocated for the installation of cameras at polling stations and ensuring live broadcasts, and 234 million drams will be provided to the police for printing notifications and informing citizens.
Prime Minister Pashinyan noted that there could be speculations regarding this issue. “The money being spent will flow into the economy, as economic transactions will ultimately take place. Secondly, to ensure the free expression of the people's will, yes, funds must be spent,” Pashinyan stated.
