Snowdrift, Difficult Roads in Armenia
As of February 10, at 15:00, the Saravank Mountain Pass is impassable (Zangezur section) due to snow drifts and poor visibility (10-15 m).
Snowdrift conditions are reported in the Chayni section of the Kotayk region and on the Rya Taza-Zilkar highway. Black ice has formed in the regions of Artik, Stepanavan, Aparan, Aragats, Dilijan, Vardenis, Vayk, and Goris.
The Vardenyats Mountain Pass is impassable for heavy and trailer vehicles. Road construction crews are working on cleaning the roads and applying salt and sand treatment.
All intergovernmental and national highways in Armenia are open.
