Minister Badasyan Welcomes Response from PACE Rapporteurs Regarding Constitutional Court Situation
Justice Minister Rustam Badasyan has welcomed the statement from PACE Monitoring Committee rapporteurs on Armenia, Andrei Shircel and Kimmo Kiljunen, regarding the situation surrounding the Constitutional Court. In a post on his Facebook page, Minister Badasyan wrote, "I welcome the response of the PACE monitoring rapporteurs on Armenia and assure that we will continue to refrain from provocations and will solve the crisis of the Constitutional Court while ensuring the principle of the rule of law."
On January 31, the PACE Monitoring Committee rapporteurs on Armenia, Andrei Shircel and Kimmo Kiljunen, released a statement regarding the situation around the Constitutional Court in Armenia. The statement notes that to date, the Armenian government and Parliament have acted in accordance with legal procedures to resolve the situation.
