“I can speak on behalf of the ‘Enlightened Armenia’ party and say that we have never spread hate speech, nor have we ever directed personal insults at anyone. Even in our political discourse, we have worked to respect the presumption of innocence of individuals,” said Davit Khajakyan, the leader of the Yerevan City Council’s ‘Light’ coalition, during a conversation with journalists, addressing the situation surrounding the member of the ‘My Step’ alliance and his resignation of mandate.

“I did not call them statusers, but I pointed out that the majority of their activities are limited to Facebook. I made this comment in response to the question of what activities that young man was noted for. Naturally, this was not about everyone, but about the majority. They mainly engage in activities on Facebook with humorous posts, comments, and likes,” emphasized the council member.
