Happy Day to Our Victorious and Glorious Army, Says Pashinyan
The Prime Minister of Armenia, Nikol Pashinyan, made a post on his Facebook page on the occasion of the Day of the Armenian Army. He wrote:
“Today is the Day of the Armenian Army. According to Fact No. 35/2 - the decision of the Government, since June 1, 2019, the specific figures for the increase in monthly salaries of the Armenian Army servicemen are as follows:
- Commander of the Battalion – 22,000 drams, 4.6 percent;
- Deputy Commander of the Battalion – 51,000 drams, 12.7 percent;
- Commander of the Company – 88,000 drams, 23 percent;
- Commander of the Platoon – 97,000 drams, 32.6 percent;
- Commander of the Section – 72,000 drams, 26.2 percent;
- Senior Private – 38,000 drams, 18 percent;
- Contract Serviceman – 23,000 drams, 13.7 percent;
- Contract Sergeant (after training) – 49,000 drams, 22 percent.
The above figures reflect the amount added after tax. In other words, this is the additional money that people specifically take home each month. Depending on the nature of the service and rank, these figures may increase or decrease slightly. Furthermore, the increases, depending on the nature of the service, are significant and tangible, while the decreases, again depending on the nature of service, are not significant.
Congratulations on your day, our victorious and glorious army.”
