81 Thousand New Jobs Created, Employment Rate at 49.3%: Pashinyan
From May 2018 to the end of 2019, over 81,000 new jobs have been created or emerged from the shadow economy in Armenia. This statement was made by Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan during a press conference.
Pashinyan also shared some details regarding the distribution of these jobs. According to him, the qualitative analysis of job distribution indicates a significant increase in high-paying jobs. He stated that this is a sign of profound changes in the economy.
As a result of the creation of new jobs and the exit of existing jobs from the shadow economy, the employment rate in Armenia has reached 49.3%. Pashinyan presented this data as of the third quarter of 2019.
For comparison, he also revealed the figures from previous years: 2018 – 46.8%, 2017 – 46.3%.
At the same time, the unemployment rate has decreased, reaching 18%.
