Major Car Accident in Kotayk Province: Collision Between Mercedes CLS and VAZ 2106

On January 8, a major car accident occurred in Kotayk Province. Around 22:30, on the Yegvard-Yerevan highway, near a bridge undergoing major renovations, two vehicles collided: a VAZ 2106 driven by 29-year-old Anushavan Kalantaryan from Yerevan with license plate 64 SL 647, and a Mercedes CLS driven by 31-year-old Mkhtiar Ayvazyan, also from Yerevan, with license plate 91 PN 111.

According to shamshyan.com, as a result of the collision, the Mercedes veered off the road and overturned approximately 7 meters into a ravine.

The main cause of the accident was the absence of traffic safety signs in the area of the under-construction bridge, which left the driver of the VAZ unable to orient himself and led to his vehicle crossing into oncoming traffic.
