Kotayk Governor Appoints Driver as Assistant with 297,000 AMD Salary
The Governor of Kotayk, Romanos Petrosyan, has given an unprecedented New Year's gift to his driver, Areg Papyan. According to Hraparak.am, Papyan has been Petrosyan's driver for over a year and was previously a member of the Prosperous Armenia Party.
The staffing chart of the governor's office indicates that he is indeed the driver for Petrosyan. However, since the driver’s salary is quite low—around 90,000 AMD—the governor has done his driver a favor, akin to what a brother would do, by appointing him as his assistant with a monthly salary of 297,000 AMD.
Although the change in the staffing chart does not appear on the governor's office website, a decision from the governor confirming the appointment is already in place. It is worth noting that every assistant has an official job description, clearly outlining their functions and the matters in which they are to assist the governor.
