Protesters Demanding the Resignation of the Minister of Education Continue Sit-in
Protesters demanding the resignation of the Minister of Education and Science are continuing their sit-in in front of the Ministry. They were visited by animator David Sahakyan.
It is worth noting that the demand for the minister's resignation was sparked by the controversial performance 'HuZank and Zang,' for which the Ministry allocated 2,700,000 drams in funding. Additionally, there is public discontent regarding a new draft law from the Ministry, which proposes to make the subjects 'Armenian Language' and 'Armenian History' non-mandatory in higher education institutions.
Furthermore, it should be noted that many lecturers from Yerevan State University have also begun a warning strike. They emphasize that they do not demand the resignation of Minister Arayik Harutyunyan but are opposed to the Ministry's draft law that would make 'Armenian Language' and 'Armenian History' non-mandatory in universities.
