Contracted Soldier Stabbed Was Not on Base During Incident, Defense Ministry Spokesman

In Sevan, Gegharkunik Province, a contracted soldier who was stabbed was not on base at the time of the incident.

"He is currently in a civilian hospital. Preliminary reports indicate that his health condition is not serious," he noted.

The Defense Ministry spokesperson emphasized that the incident occurred off duty, during a time of rest. The young man was at home when the incident took place.

It is recalled that the event occurred yesterday. The young man was transported to the hospital in Sevan with various cut and stab wounds. According to circulating reports, the soldier and another young man had a dispute over some issues, which ended in stabbing.
