Tragic Accident in Artik: КамАЗ and VAZ-2107 Collide, Rescuers Retrieve Deceased from Vehicle Using Special Equipment

Today, November 2, a tragic car accident occurred in the Shirak province. Around 15:00, on Garibjanyan Street in the city of Artik, a collision occurred between a КамАЗ truck driven by 40-year-old Hamlet Sh., a resident of Akhuryan village, and a VAZ-2107 car driven by 55-year-old Avag P., a resident of Nor Kyanq village.

According to photojournalist Gagik Shamshyan, as a result of the accident, the driver of the VAZ-2107, Avag P., died on the spot.

Emergency Situations Ministry's Rescue Service from the Shirak provincial dispatch arrived at the scene with three combat units. Rescuers used special equipment to retrieve the deceased from the vehicle.

According to G. Shamshyan, the deceased Avag P. worked as the Deputy Head of IT for Gazprom Armenia’s Shirak branch in Artik, while the КамАЗ driver Hamlet Sh. is employed at Argik LLC.
