Turkey Hands Over Syrian Prisoners of War to Russia
Turkey has handed over 18 Syrian prisoners of war to Russia. This was reported by the Turkish Ministry of Defense on Twitter, as conveyed by Lenta.
The statement mentions that "the regime's [referring to Syrian President Bashar al-Assad] 18 prisoners of war, who were captured on October 29, have been handed over to the Russian authorities as a result of their cooperation." It is known that the soldiers were captured near the city of Ras al-Ain.
On October 31, Turkish Defense Minister Hulusi Akar announced that Ankara was discussing the terms for the handover of the 18 captured Syrian soldiers with Moscow.
