Shootout Between Armenians in Los Angeles
A shootout occurred in North Hollywood, Los Angeles, between the owner of the local Royal Fresh market and representatives of a gang attempting to extort money from him. This was reported by Rusarminfo.
For several weeks, members of an ethnic Armenian gang had been extorting $100,000 from the businessman, threatening him with messages on his store stating “pay up.” After the market staff removed these threats, gang members returned to the store early in the morning at around 8 AM. The owner, who is also Armenian, confronted the gang members armed and opened fire upon seeing them.
“The market owner had two weapons. He and the gang members fired dozens of shots, which damaged several vehicles,” reported the Los Angeles Times. As a result of the shootout, at least one person was injured. Eyewitnesses stated that one of the gang members fled while limping.
