Armenia May Lose Its Voting Rights in the CSTO: Galuzin
During the CSTO summit scheduled for November 11, the issue of depriving Armenia of its voting rights within the organization may be discussed, warned Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Galuzin.
In an interview with TASS, he noted that any decision regarding sanctions against member states is exclusively within the jurisdiction of the Collective Security Council. Earlier, Russia's permanent representative to the CSTO, Viktor Vasiliev, stated that consensus is required for depriving Armenia of its voting rights. He also emphasized that Armenia is obliged to contribute 10% to the CSTO's overall budget but has not fulfilled this obligation for the past two years.
Furthermore, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov reminded that the article concerning unpaid membership fees could be applied against Armenia.
