Gagik Khachatryan Transferred to Hospital

Former head of the RA State Revenue Committee, Gagik Khachatryan, has been transferred to St. Gregory the Illuminator Hospital today for examinations. This was stated by Nona Navikyan, head of the Public Relations Department of the RA Ministry of Justice's Penitentiary Service, in response to Aurora News's inquiry.

“It is a routine medical examination,” noted Ms. Navikyan.

Recall that the National Security Service arrested Gagik Khachatryan and his nephew, former SRGC official Karen Khachatryan, on August 27. Three days later, the former officials were detained. Khachatryan has been charged with abuse of power and embezzlement on a particularly large scale. The defense has repeatedly stated during this time that Khachatryan has serious health issues.
