Desire for YouTube Localization in Armenia, Says Avinyan
Armenia has begun negotiations with YouTube for localization within the country. This was stated by Armenian Deputy Prime Minister Tigran Avinyan during a meeting with journalists on October 7.
In response to the observation that YouTube has localizations in 120 countries worldwide but not in Armenia, which would allow Armenians to monetize their content, Avinyan confirmed, "Yes, we have plans for this and the Ministry of High-Tech Industry is negotiating with YouTube on this issue. Not only with YouTube but also with major programming companies, for which we currently do not have localization in Armenia. We have started negotiations."
