Trump Promises to 'Return' Crimea
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has announced that U.S. President Donald Trump has promised assistance in the matter of 'returning' Crimea.
"I think I heard him say that he agrees this is our native land, and we will return it. He said, 'Yes, you need to work, and we will help you,'" Zelensky's words have been quoted by the UNIAN agency.
The Ukrainian president added that he told Trump about the beauty of the peninsula. The leaders spoke the day before during the United Nations General Assembly session. The U.S. leader described the meeting as 'fantastic' but did not disclose details. It is only known that he advised Zelensky to 'continue progress' in relations with Russia.
For his part, the Ukrainian president assured that he does not wish to interfere in the U.S. elections and invited his counterpart to visit Kyiv, as reported by RIA Novosti.
