18-Year-Old Stabs 12-Year-Old Boy

On September 16, the Martuni division of the police received reports that on September 15, a 12-year-old resident of the town of Gavar was admitted to the hospital with a diagnosis of "severe laceration to the lower third of the right thigh."

The boy reported in the hospital that he had sustained the injury after falling at a carnival in the village of Nerkhin Getashen.

However, information received from the Gegharkunik regional police department revealed that the injury was not due to a fall, but rather the result of being stabbed by an 18-year-old fellow resident at the carnival.

On September 16, at 2:00 PM, the 18-year-old was taken to the Martuni police station, where he confessed that on September 15, around 1:00 PM, he had accidentally stabbed the boy with a knife at the carnival.

Measures are being taken to locate the knife, and further investigation is underway.
