We Initiate Impeachment Process Against Hayk Marutyan: Aghekyan

All members of our team are subjected to repressions; even police operatives are monitoring near my house, and they report this to the relevant authorities. This was stated by Sona Aghakyan, the head of the 'Alternative Municipality' initiative team, during a press conference today, September 13.

'The 26-year-old head of the Shengavit administrative district participated in my detention operation. I was unlawfully taken to the police station and held for more than 3 hours. I have obtained the documents which show that everything reported is false, and I will be appealing to the European Court,' she said.

Aghakyan also informed that she is being sued by Yerevan Mayor Hayk Marutyan. 'Hayk Marutyan has established that he has dignity, which, according to him, is worth 2 million drams. He knows very well that I have two minor children and a mother with a second group disability. He wishes to financially pressure me into silence, but he cannot. Since I do not have any movable or immovable property that could be seized, yesterday I realized that the Enforcement Service should inventory my possessions to assess my children’s and mother’s clothing, in order to compensate for Hayk Marutyan's two million drams worth of dignity,' she stated, addressing Marutyan.

'I have set aside some of my clothes that would fit you, in your size, and I have some special underwear in patterns that you particularly like to wear, along with red lipsticks. I will present all of these to you.'

Sona Aghakyan added that they are starting the impeachment process against Hayk Marutyan.
