Bribery Case Reported Ahead of Tomorrow's Elections in Artsakh
A bribery incident has been reported in Artsakh during the pre-election period, according to Armen Movsisyan, head of the Artsakh police department's staff, during a conversation with journalists. The police are conducting relevant checks, he stated.
Movsisyan explained that as a result of verifying received information, it was found that one of the candidates for the head of a community in the Askeran region had visited one of the residents' homes and offered them ten thousand drams in exchange for their vote.
"We are verifying the information, and based on sufficient grounds, we will either initiate a criminal case or dismiss the claim," he said. Violations have also been reported in Shushi and Stepanakert.
The police chief of Artsakh has issued an order to create an operational staff that has been functioning since August 26. Movsisyan assured that there is no tension and no reason for concern.
The head of the public order maintenance division of the Artsakh police also stated that from 8:00 PM today, services will be carried out in an intensified mode.
