VIDEO: Closed Format of the Ambassadorial Meeting Allowed Open Discussion of Issues, Says Deputy Foreign Minister

The diplomatic representatives' gathering, held on August 27, focused on open discussions. In a broadcast on Public Television today, Deputy Foreign Minister Artak Apitonian emphasized that this type of meeting was held for the first time in its format.

“During the gathering, for example, the closed format allowed for an honest discussion of issues,” noted Apitonian. Addressing discussions with regional governors, the Deputy Foreign Minister added, “This format was also new. There had never been a regional visit before. The governors presented potential programs that could attract potential investors. Charitable and development programs were also presented. It was important for the ambassadors to experience firsthand our regional development opportunities, as well as the existing problems and challenges,” he said.
