Johnson Promises to Do Everything to Ensure the Country Leaves the EU by October 31

British Prime Minister Boris Johnson has promised to do everything possible to ensure that the country leaves the EU by October 31 at the latest. He stated that under no circumstances will he ask the EU for a delay in Brexit. This was reported while he was giving a speech in Wakefield in front of police officers, according to Sky News.

"I will ensure that this unnecessary delay does not happen, and our country leaves the EU on October 31," he said. Johnson believes it is better to lie dead in a ditch than to ask for a delay in Brexit.

As previously reported, Johnson sees the solution as holding a snap parliamentary election; however, yesterday the British Parliament rejected the Prime Minister's proposal for an early election on October 15.

It is worth noting that the Prime Minister had proposed holding general elections after the House of Commons passed a bill that prohibits a hard Brexit, meaning it bans Brexit on October 31 in the absence of a deal with the EU.
