No Change Expected in Chief of General Staff of Armed Forces, David Tonoyan
In a conversation with journalists, Armenian Minister of Defense David Tonoyan responded negatively to rumors regarding the dismissal of the Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces, Artak Davtyan.
When asked if a change in the Chief of Staff position is expected, especially with the name of Vagarshak Harutyunyan circulating, Tonoyan stated, "Whoever is spreading that information, ask them. What kind of question is that? Of course, no."
Regarding the situation at the border and whether the agreements made in Dushanbe are being implemented, Tonoyan mentioned that he would not consider those agreements as such, but subsequent meetings have occurred, within which the leaders of the two countries agreed to adhere to the ceasefire rules.
In response to a question about whether the Chairman of the National Assembly, Ararat Mirzoyan, wrote that Chinari is now invulnerable, David Tonoyan replied that there are many points that are indeed invulnerable now. To the observation if specifically Chinari is invulnerable, Tonoyan remarked, "The geography is vast; there has been a commentary from the Ministry of Defense regarding the specific locality."
