Human Rights Defender Sends Working Group to Jermuk Regarding Amulsar

In order to familiarize itself with the developments related to the exploitation of the Amulsar mine, a working group has been dispatched to the city of Jermuk on the instructions of the Human Rights Defender. This was announced by the public relations department of the Human Rights Defender's Office of Armenia.

During the visit, discussions are planned with residents of the Gndevaz community, citizens monitoring the area for the non-exploitation of the Amulsar mine, and representatives of civil society. Separate discussions will also be held at the Jermuk municipality.

Taking into account the publications in the media and social networks, a separate observation will be carried out regarding the accumulation of police forces in the city. Yesterday, the Human Rights Defender's hotline received three reports from residents of Jermuk related to this issue.

It should be noted that the Human Rights Defender continues to monitor the events surrounding the exploitation of the Amulsar mine within the limits of its jurisdiction.
