Is a Change in the Procedure for Extending the Validity of Driver's Licenses Expected?
The Police of the Republic of Armenia has not confirmed information regarding changes to the procedure for extending the validity of driver’s licenses and the introduction of additional examinations for traffic regulations. This was stated in response to a query by a reporter from NEWS.am.
Recently, there have been active rumors suggesting that, due to a sharp increase in the number of traffic accidents, additional examinations are planned for cases where the validity of driver’s licenses is being extended in 2020. In Armenia, driver’s licenses are granted for a period of 10 years.
The police also reported that they do not conduct calculations of the number of license holders. As a result, it is impossible to determine how many people in the country possess a driver’s license, as well as how many licenses will expire in 2020.
