The crew of a thermonavigating vessel on the Ob River has successfully prevented a disaster involving a passenger ship that was heading toward rocks, according to the Investigation Department of Transport for Western Siberia.
According to Ria.ru, the ship carrying 50 passengers lost control, but the crew of another vessel helped avert the ship's disaster. As reported by Ap22.ru, the incident occurred on August 9 in an area where the water depth reaches 17 meters.
The source noted that the disabled passenger ship had children and elderly individuals on board. The crew of the "Moscow-207" was instrumental in preventing the collision.
Following the release of information about the incident in the media, the Investigation Department of Transport for Western Siberia has launched an inquiry.
