Woman Detained on Suspicion of Desecrating Graves: Is She the Same Suspect?
Yesterday, the head of the Information Department of the Yerevan City Hall, Hovsep Kubatyan, wrote on his Facebook page: “In recent days, there have been repeated incidents of desecration of graves at the community ‘Karmir Blur’ cemetery. The administration of the ‘Special Community Services’ municipal non-commercial organization has contacted the police.”
Narek Sargsyan from the police press office told ArmDaily.am that a female citizen has been detained on suspicion and the circumstances are being clarified. The police cannot confirm whether the detained woman is the same one suspected of desecrating gravestones in Yerablur and several other cemeteries.
Recall that recent incidents of grave desecration were recorded in Yerablur and various cemeteries. The police had previously detained a 51-year-old resident of Yerevan on suspicion of desecrating gravestones. The circumstances are being clarified, and the case is already under the jurisdiction of the military police.
