Citizens Taken to Police Station Near City Hall Released
All citizens who were taken to the police station near the City Hall have been released. This was reported to Tert.am by the Public Relations and Information Department of the Police of the Republic of Armenia.
"Administrative penalties were imposed on one citizen (Sona Aghekyan) for not complying with a lawful request of a police officer, and materials are being prepared regarding the incident of assault," the Public Relations and Information Department of the Police of Armenia informed.
It should be noted that the initiative “Alternative City Hall of Yerevan” held a protest action in front of the City Hall under the slogan "Cleaning Political and Household Waste." During the action, former council member Sona Aghekyan was taken away by the police, as well as Gagik Sarukhanyan for arguing with another citizen. They were taken to the central police department.
