Brother of 'Bottle Melo' Melik Manukyan Arrested

The General Jurisdiction Court of Kotayk region, presided by Judge Hovhannes Avagyan, has approved the investigator's request to arrest former MP Melik Manukyan's brother, businessman Robert Manukyan, who is popularly known as 'Bottle Melo'. This information was confirmed by Robert Manukyan's lawyer, Hovsep Sargsyan, in a conversation with Tert.am.

Lawyer Sargsyan stated, "Judge Margaryan had previously deemed the arrest of Robert Manukyan illegal, considering the police's request unjustifiable. Judge Avagyan accepted the investigator's motion, issuing an incomprehensible decision."

It is noted that Robert Manukyan has been charged with using violence against a representative of the authorities, and for obstructing the administration of justice and the investigation. He was taken into custody at the site of an explosion that occurred on the Yerevan-Sevan highway.

As a reminder, Robert Manukyan faces charges of using violence against a representative of the authorities under Article 316, Part 1 of the RA Criminal Code and incitement to obstruct the investigation under Article 38-332, Part 2 of the RA Criminal Code.
