Man Who Resisted Road Police Arrested
On July 13, officers from the Ararat division and the road police serving the Aragatsotn province conducted intensified operations in the city of Ashtarak. During this time, the road police stopped a "Ford Transit" vehicle traveling along the Ashtarak-Yerevan highway. The road police noticed that the driver and one of the passengers had swapped places, with the passenger posing as the driver.
The road police required the actual driver to present the appropriate documents. Meanwhile, one of the passengers got out of the "Ford," argued with the road police, showed resistance, failed to comply with the lawful demands of the police, and acted violently towards them. Officers from the Ashtarak division and the road police, who arrived at the scene, detained both the man who resisted and the actual driver of the vehicle.
A criminal case has been initiated regarding the incident. The man who resisted has been arrested. The sobriety level of the vehicle's driver was checked, and it was determined that he was under the influence of alcohol. The circumstances are under investigation.
