Explosion at Geghamist Auto Repair Shop: 2 Hospitalized

An extraordinary incident occurred today in the Ararat region. According to Shamshyan.com, around 13:20, an explosion was heard under unknown circumstances at a vulcanization welding workshop located on the main street of the village of Geghamist.

Photographer Gagik Shamshyan reports from the scene that as a result of the explosion, two individuals were rescued from the workshop with the help of local citizens and were transported by civilian vehicles to the "Astghik" medical center.

Witnesses at the explosion site stated, "We heard a loud explosion and saw that fire was coming out of the workshop. We immediately went in and brought out two workers who were injured. We extinguished the fire ourselves…"

The photographer also notes that the explosion caused damage to the walls of the neighboring house's kitchen and bedroom, with furniture and some belongings scattered around.
