Russia Returns to PACE: Naira Zohrabyan

Member of the Armenian National Assembly from the Prosperous Armenia faction, Naira Zohrabyan, stated on her Facebook page: “Yesterday, one of the longest sessions in the history of PACE finally came to an end. With 118 votes in favor and 62 against, Russia returned to PACE. Even the discussions on the wars in Chechnya and Georgia were not as prolonged and dramatic as this one.

The countries opposed to Russia's return are not ready to give in, and I believe the drama in the Strasbourg parliament will continue today. Yesterday, the Ukrainian delegation declared the restoration of Russia's voting rights as a 'Strasbourg betrayal' and threatened to leave PACE.”
