I Am a Land Seizer: Robert Kocharian's Interview

Former President of Armenia Robert Kocharian expressed that he has no special expectations from the court. He stated this during an interview with the Fifth Channel.

According to Kocharian, everything was done to prevent the defense from presenting its viewpoint. He noted that this was not a case of the murder of ten individuals, and it was unclear why the relatives of those killed were invited.

In his opinion, the authorities’ motivations encompass the situation in Artsakh, aiming to persecute him. "Given my past and my type in the context of resolving the Artsakh issue, it may cause certain concern for those forces that see this resolution as unfavorable to Armenia," he remarked.

Addressing rumors that he wished to hand over Meghri, he stated: “When I became the leader of Artsakh, half of Artsakh’s territory was occupied by Azerbaijani armed forces. When the war ended, not only was all of Nagorno-Karabakh liberated, but also seven regions. I am not a land surrenderer; I am a land seizer. We liberated seven regions, connected them to Nagorno-Karabakh, created a security zone, and today those territories are a critically important component of the security of Nagorno-Karabakh. The work of every individual should also be assessed from the perspective of the state of acceptance and the state of surrender,” he emphasized.
