Trucks Full of Metal Waste Protest in Front of the Government
Citizens engaged in the recycling of metal waste parked trucks loaded with metal garbage today, June 20, in front of the government building, demanding to be allowed to continue their activities, reports News.am.
According to the protesters, they have been engaged in this work for a year and have invested significant amounts of money, but today they are being prohibited from working.
“We took out a loan to undertake this project. We collect non-hazardous metallic waste from all over Armenia, process it, and export it. We generate income from waste, but today we are being obstructed,” said one of the participants in the protest.
They stated that they have come to personally present their demands to Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan. “The Prime Minister said that the revolution was not over until this waste disappears from the streets, yet today we are being hindered,” said another protester.
It should be noted that there are 8 trucks parked in front of the government building, loaded with metal scraps. One of the protest participants suggested moving the trucks towards the State Revenue Committee building, as they had initiated the proposal.
